#5 on the Social Justice Book List

February 11, 2011

One- A Face Behind the Numbers, by Vaden Earle is a collection of short stories, statistics, and photos that highlights people in poverty and their stories. Organized by issue (HIV, War, Slavery, Thirst, Disease, Statelessness) this book really drives home that poverty isn’t an impersonal problem. Makes a thought-provoking (though sombre) coffee table book.
