Lunch Hour Crafts #7- Easy Hair Pins

September 7, 2011

This one is quick and easy- no sewing at all, and easily customized to match any outfit. The trick with embellishing bobby pins is to use a small piece of felt as the base for whatever you want to put on the bobby pins.

Easy! Little strip of felt and a bobby pin.

Hot glue the little piece of felt onto the curved end of the bobby pin. Don’t use too much glue or you’ll glue the pin closed and it will look messy. There are times to use a lot of glue. This isn’t one of them.

If you do glue the bobby pin closed, just wait till the glue cools and gently pick off what is in the wrong place. No harm done. This technique is also handy on countertops that you forgot to put newspaper on. Sorry mom.

When your felt is attached, you can glue any embellishments onto the pins. Feathers, beads, silk flowers, more felt…the possibilities are fairly endless. Have fun!

All ready to make more!
